Under instruction of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Home Ministry has started an investigation on the alleged role of Delhi Police in the recent attack on Syed Abdur Rehman Geelani, a professor in Delhi's Zakir Hussain College. On the other hand, Delhi Police has come to know that Sangram Guha, the playwright of the drama which evolves around Geelani "16 Millimeter", has recently been threatened over phone in Kolkata. The Kolkata Police has also investigating on this incident. It has also made a special security arrangement for Guha. The Delhi Police's role in the Parliament Attack episode has also been severely criticized in Guha's play.

Although Delhi Police is yet to find who had made the attack on Geelani once, but it has started to believe that an attack on Guha may be attempted soon. The Special Branch, Kolkata Police, has already sent a report to Delhi Police on Guha and his drama. While asked, Prasun Mukherjee, the Commissioner of Kolkata Police, said, “Keeping the interest of investigation in mind, I don't want to make any comment now."
K.K. Paul, the Police Commissioner of Delhi, has also said that it would not be proper to make a comment on this when the investigation is in progress. Ajoy Raj Sharma was the Police Commissioner of Delhi when the Parliament was attacked. At that time Delhi Police arrests Geelani alleging that he was involved in that incident. Geelani was locked in at Tihar Jail for a while. His wife and son used to live in the third floor of a rented house at Mukherjee Nagar. There was an STD booth on the ground floor. His entire family was ostracized in the locality when Geelani got arrested. His wife even was not allowed to make any call from that PCO.
Now Geelani has raised a question on Delhi Police's role regarding the attempt on his life. Supreme Court, too, has instructed to investigate the role of the Police in this event. Only after that, the Government became active. Instructions were sent from the Prime Minister's Secretariat, too.
A few days ago, somebody threatens Guha over phone in a language mixed of both Hindi and Urdu. A statement was read out to him. Kolkata Police, too, is quite anxious about the event. No such play on Geelani had taken place earlier. In order to write the play "16 Millimeter", which is on Geelani's role in the attack, Guha had to interact with Geelani's family. Was that the reason behind receiving the threatening call? Was it aimed at the objective of preventing Guha to stage the same drama in future, which he had staged a month back, by terrifying him? Kolkata Police has already recorded Guha's statement. It has also gone through the original script of the play. Out of this, which part is fact and which part is fiction that the police want to know.
While investigating, the Police Commissioner of Delhi has also studied the report sent by the Police Commissioner of Kolkata.
