"Anticlock", the story of struggle of Lola, a prostitute
Biplab Kumar Ghosh
The stage is turned to America. Costume, Acting or dialogues, all resemble with the cosmopolitan society of America. From brothel to court-everything appears as real situation. Music and light effect are most spectacular. It was an exceptional fight of Lola, a prostitute, to track another war behind the declared war. And this struggle continually changed her address, identity, even her known circle of life at every moment. Yet, more surprisingly, why had been the Americans are killed in their own country, who waged the war only to search out the truth? Who have not shown their presence in this mission? From the Lawyer to CIA even FBI. Veteran CIA officer Allen rightly utters,"forget my identity, just remember that I too a human being". Such confession serves great to Lola's crusade. And owing strength to thus, Lola proceeds to unveil to real face of the war. 'Anticlock' is an another bold milestone of Sangram Guha. He directly attacks the state policy of U.S. through his theatrical journey. Since 9/11 the enlarged war map engulfs Afghanistan and Iraq, and now crawls for Iran. But the question arises that will the next destination of this war be the lands of India and Pakistan? Here the 'Anticlock' righteously wonders that who has been the most benefited in this incessant war? Millions of innocents, who have been killed, are not in the benefit-list simply. On the other hand, the declared attackers of Al Qaeda terrorists ,even they are not. Because nobody could submit the adequate proof till date. Also, 'Anticlock' intends to focus the different pictures of the air-strikes on Pentagon and World Trade Centre. It question about the authenticity of the truth, which was declared as fact, behind the episode.

'Anticlock' is undoubtedly even more fierce exposure of international terrorism after '16 Millimeter', 'Operation Flush', 'Istishadi-the suicide squad'. This is probably the first bold attempt of its type in the fields of theatre of Kolkata. This has been the outcome of research works for a long two and half years. Even the controversial film maker Michael Moor advised to " make steps cautiously" in his letter, as said Sangram, the director. Spandan could present the sensitive scenario rightly and really, by the rendition of thirty performers. Sampa Sen in her roles of a prostitute and lawyer cuts the mark. Samudra Guha is near to reallity, Koushik Ghosh in the role of a vagabond sleeping at park, Partha Nag as Foster, Ashim Raychowdhury as Sun Jacob, Debjani Gupta as Katerine are outstanding. Still the director could opt the more efficient one in role of the FBI officer, Russel.
